Don Chick, M.Photog.Cr., CPP, D.C.Ph.
Don began his portrait career when he opened Chick Photography in the fall of
1997. Don received both the Master of Photography and Photographic
Craftsman degrees from the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) in
2006. He has also earned the Distinguished Colleague of Photography degree
from the New Hampshire Professional Photographers Association (NHPPA). Don
has garnered many awards for his portraits in professional competitions
including; (2X) NHPPA Photographer-of-the-Year, numerous Courts of Honor, a
Best of Show, five Kodak Gallery awards and 2 ASP State Elite awards. On the
National level, Don has 13 PPA Loan Collection images.
Don has taught lighting programs around the U.S. In 2008, he had a series of
articles on Studio Portrait Lighting published in PPA’s Professional
Photographer magazine. In 2009 Don presented a platform program at the
National Convention of Wedding and Portrait Photographers International
(WPPI), as well as teaching a one day class at the Bahamas International School
of Professional Photography (BISPP.com). Several states had Don present his
lighting class in 2009 including; NH, ME, MA, & MD.
Don is a past president of the New Hampshire PPA. He, along with his wife,
Sandy operates their studio in East Rochester, NH. They have 4 children.
